About me
Amanda Bernard – Owner & Professional Pet Sitter
Hi, I’m Amanda! I’ve had a lifelong love for animals, and I’ve been lucky enough to turn that passion into a fulfilling career. Raised right here in Maryland, I began my journey in animal care back in 2004 at a local animal shelter. That experience quickly led me to explore veterinary medicine, where I found my true calling.
For the next 18 years, I worked as an emergency veterinary technician, gaining hands-on experience in emergency, surgical and general veterinary medicine. This background has given me a deep understanding of animal health, behavior, and the importance of compassionate care.
Today, I combine that experience with my love for animals through personalized pet sitting services. I know how stressful it can be to leave your pets behind—whether you're at work or traveling—but it doesn’t have to be. My goal is to provide peace of mind and loving care for your pets while you're away.
Outside of work, I live on a cozy four-acre homestead with my husband Christopher and our three wonderful children. We share our space with a lively mix of chickens, ducks, goats, and a few kune kune pigs—so you could say animals are a part of everyday life around here!

Sleep over in our home
Staying at our home is a perfect option. With a fully finished basement apartment your pet will feel right at home! Complete with living room area, tons of dog beds, feeding station, ball pit, tunnel, toy box, puppy pool and so much more. Kennels are available if needed. Our home sits on a 4 acre homestead, which depending on your pets needs means long walks/hikes/exploring. We also now offer a cat boarding room that includes everything your cat needs to be safe and secure while enjoying being boarded! All this while in the care of a experienced veterinary nurse, and her fireman/EMT spouse. This is a luxury limited pet boarding experience, so booking in advance is a must!
Pet sitting
We offer in home "Drop ins" (30/60 mins) at your home. This can include walks, feedings, medicating, and lots of TLC! Let us give you peace of mind by dropping in on those precious fur babies!

Booking can be done by sending a request through time to pet or by email or text. Bookings longer than a 7 night period will now require a 50% non refundable deposit. Additional fee for Holidays and Late Pick-up (after 11am).
Cancellations...We understand and that life happens and things don't always go the way we planned. Please keep in mind that we have reserved this time for you and request 7 days notice for cancellations. Less than 7 days notice will result in 50% of all charges due. Less than 3 days notice will result in 100% of all charges due. For stays over 7 nights the 50% deposit is non refundable. Unfortunately we are unable to give refunds or credits for last minute changes or early return.
Drop in visits/ Pet sitting requires the same notice stated above.
